juwi's succes story started in 1996 at a location with excellent wind conditions. juwi CEO Matthias Willenbacher and other enthusiasts realized a 500 kW Enercon E-40 turbine. In the course of time four more followed, in July 2003 a two MW Vestas V80. All turbines had an annual yield of 6,4 MW – more than enough to cover the needs of 4,000 households. In 2003 juwi has participated in one of the first repowering projects- replacing two first-generation turbines with modern E-66. In 2010 a E-66 is going to be replaced with a six MW turbine- E-126 ersetzt- increasing the annual total yield to 13,4 MW.
